A hands-on spirit and strong momentum between Schleswig-Holstein and San Francisco—that’s exactly what The Bay Areas is all about in 2026 as well.

Our general meeting on March 24 showed that the partnership between the two Bay Areas is stronger than ever. After looking back and looking ahead, the speakers shared Cathrin Truckenbrodt, Frauke Wiprich, Ingo Scheuse and Carsten Schultz from the delegation trip and brought back valuable insights for Kiel and Schleswig-Holstein.

New Board Member
We are especially pleased that Steffen Yader Stadler He is now joining our executive team. With his experience and enthusiasm for technology, software, startups, and research, he will help shape new partnerships and collaborations.

And 2026 will be anything but quiet: San Francisco Evening at the Kiel Digital Week, "Überflieger" Startup Competition, Waterkant Festival, Youth Sailing Exchange during Kiel Week, the Responsible Innovation & Entrepreneurship (RI&E) Conference, the Lighthouse Swim, German Day in San Francisco, and our Thanksgiving party celebrating 10 years of The Bay Areas—the year is packed with exciting events and encounters ranging from innovation and science to culture and sports.
