Longevity, robotaxis, optimism about the future - Silicon Valley meets Kiel!

5 May @ 18:30 - 19:30 UTC+2
The Bay Areas and Digital Week Kiel simply belong together. The San Francisco evening with exciting topics from our partner region is already a tradition and in 2026 we want to spread optimism about the future together.

Which ideas from Silicon Valley are already changing our tomorrow, from longevity to robotaxis? What makes California's Bay Area the world's innovation engine? And what can we learn from this for Germany and Europe?

This evening is about more than just innovation: it's about speed. About courage. About the question of how ideas can be turned into real impact.

This is exactly what Thomas Schulz, reporter for the SPIEGEL editorial team, long-time Silicon Valley correspondent and author. His keynote will take us to a region where the future is not only imagined, but has been made for decades.

Afterwards we will go together with Oliver Schramm (German Consul General in San Francisco until 2025 and TBA member) and Anna Dornberger of The Bay Areas e.V. is about opportunities, learning and looking at what is possible - even here in our region - when ideas meet implementation.
This promises plenty of inspiration and topics of conversation for the subsequent networking with a view over Kiel.
You shouldn't miss this evening!
