German Day in Golden Gate Park

We attended GermanDay in Golden Gate Park for the first time to present the city partnership between Kiel and San Francisco and the work of The Bay Areas e.V. and our sister organization San Francisco - Kiel Sister City Committee.

We were able to hold interesting discussions with many of the more than 5,000 visitors at our joint stand with Kiel-Marketing. There were often links to Kiel or to our existing and potential projects in various areas such as sport, art and culture or young talents and start-ups.

German Day takes place every two years and is organized by and for the German community in the Bay Area. In addition to private cultural associations, institutions such as the Goethe-Institut San Francisco, GABA Northern California - German American Business Association, AHK USA - San Francisco and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany San Francisco with the team led by Oliver Schramm and Franciska Obermeyer are also involved.

A good opportunity for us to kick off our networking trip with initial discussions with friends and partners, make new personal contacts and expand our network once again.

There was a warm reunion with Petra Specht and Christian Kisielowski, who are co-organizers of the German Day with the Excelsior German Center.
