On August 14, 2021 the first open water swim in the Kiel Fjord starts. The event, initiated by swimmers in San Francisco and Kiel, is intended to encourage open water swimmers in Kiel and San Francisco to swim together in the bays, challenge themselves with endurance sports and at the same time draw attention to the fragility of the water quality.
