Also for Schleswig-Holstein?<\/p><p>The Transatlantic Student Initiative (TSI) organized an evening on these questions with exciting guests, which we were happy to support together with the Amerika-Gesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein and the state capital of Kiel.<\/p><p>In his welcoming address, Dr. Ulf K\u00e4mpfer spoke about the importance of the city partnership between Kiel and San Francisco and the effects of protective tariffs, among other things. Alan Meltzer, the highest-ranking American diplomat, emphasized the common economic policy goals of the USA and Germany.<\/p><p>Stefan Schlueter (former German diplomat), Prof. Aoife Hanley, PHD (IfW Kiel), Aidan Corcoran (international finance specialist), Lasse Petersdotter (Economic Committee of the Landtag) and Rasmus V\u00f6ge (European Committee of the Landtag) contributed further very different perspectives in a discussion with David Polzer and Melanie Burnhard from the Transatlantic Student Initiative (TSI).<\/p><p>Despite different ideas about ways and possibilities, there were also common positions in the panel:<\/p><ul><li>Change always offers opportunities<\/li><li>Focus on your own strengths and goals is important<\/li><li>Optimism, a willingness to take risks and flexibility help with implementation<\/li><\/ul><p>In addition, relationships should be strengthened at various levels in order to stay in touch, particularly with regard to political changes. The panel participants mentioned sports, music, culture, school exchanges, family ties, science and research, among other things.
