The Digital Challenge 2020 was launched on November 25 in a joint digital kick-off with more than 100 participants. As part of the Digital Challenge, The Bay Areas e.V. and\u00a0Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Center Kiel<\/a>\u00a0as organizer with the scientific partners:
Christian-Albrecht-University Kiel<\/a>,\u00a0University of L\u00fcbeck<\/a>,\u00a0Flensburg University of Applied Sciences<\/a>,\u00a0Kiel University of Applied Sciences<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0West Coast University of Applied Sciences Heide<\/a>. Numerous\u00a0Sponsor<\/a>\u00a0and volunteers supported the challenge. The aim of the\u00a0Digital Challenge<\/a>\u00a0is the joint implementation of a project week with students on the topic of digitalization in a company in order to successfully continue on the path to digitalization. Teams of students develop ideas and impulses that are as radical as possible, which should contribute to the success of the participating companies. The Digital Challenge 2020 creates sustainable approaches to digitalization! The students stood up to the critical and challenging questions from the supervising board and answered the board's questions with foresight and competence. However, the board also asked further questions relevant to the development and fine-tuning of the business models.<\/p>

Pure motivation was in the air<\/a>on November 2, when highly concentrated students from the four university locations presented their first solutions for the Digital Challenge 2020 in the form of pitches to the companies and board members at the digital interim presentation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the final, where the\u00a0Schrimherr Jan Philipp Albrecht<\/a>\u00a0In a welcoming address, the jury once again pointed out the high relevance and innovative power of initiatives that combine digitalization and sustainability goals, things got really exciting once again. In the end, everyone had gained something. The companies gained valuable insights and inspiration from the disruptive business models developed by the students, which are now prompting the companies to think about and develop further. The students took away a lot of new practical experience and quickly accumulated new knowledge, skills and deeper relationships with fellow students. One student described his experience impressively and said: \"What you normally learn in a semester, you learn in 5 days at the Digital Challenge.\"<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

All students received personal prize money from the total of 14,000\u00a0EUR<\/span>\u00a0prize money from the Digital Challenge. The universities, as well as the two organizers, were also highly satisfied with the results and the event.<\/p>
